Deborah Remmers, Artist

Deborah Remmers is an artist native to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Her diverse interests are apparent in the broad mediums in which she works. Her black and white photography, drawings and watercolor paintings reflect a representational approach, whereas her acrylic painting and monotype prints tend toward the abstract. Deborah also delves into figure sculpture and book, box and paper-making.

Deborah enjoys trying new techniques and directions and makes every effort to convey her own idea of the world through the use of color, shape, line and texture. Her influences include the dynamic of the human form and the sights and experiences from travels across North America and Fiji. Her work sometimes reflects her playful sense of humor and is a reaction to the surrounding world. Deborah displays her work at numerous Northern Virginia and Eastern Shore venues and has received multiple awards from area art shows for her photographs, paintings, and monotype prints. Her artwork is increasingly being sought by private collectors.
